SULTANATE OF OMAN TOURISM

Vol. 6, Issue 51 - 29 March 2013
In March 2013, Disarm Doors travelled to Oman courtesy of the Sultanate of Oman Tourism who hosted a select group of travel bloggers and media, exposing them to the very finest parts of this fascinating country.

Not only were we generating our own social content during the visit, but Oman's first official social media influencers' trip was being covered by conventional media in Oman. We found ourselves profiled in HiWeekly which is published by the Times of Oman.

Huge gratitude to the Sultanate of Oman Tourism for the opportunity to travel to this amazing place in the esteemed company of prominent folk like Amy from Don't Ever Look Back, Brooke from Brooke Versus The World AND Her Packing List (She's a busy gal), Daisy Melwani from KarryOn, and, of course, Edwina Dick.

THE HUMAN BROCHURE: February 2013
A fascinating social media exercise initiated by Australian Capital Tourism

In early 2013 we were invited to take part in ACTourism's Human Brochure campaign.

We spent a brilliant weekend in Australia's much maligned capital with influential social media types enjoying ourselves immensely and tweeting, posting, instagramming and blogging about it like nobody's business.

The Human Brochure was an incredibly brave promotional activity by a tourism board which, like most, has typically erred on the conventional mix of nice images pushed out on TV and glossy magazine pages. It was a media trip like no other whereby they literally handed their voice over to 500 genies who were well and truly out of the bottle.

Brilliant!
